Open Rules team bocce is the style of recreational sport commonly played at facilities and parks throughout the United States. The sport will be played under the rules set forth by the United States Bocce Federation (USBF). This includes and live back wall and shooting from behind the B Line, which is the same line used for lagging.
Open Rules team event will have age groups of 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+. There are no gender divisions for Open Rules teams. Due to court availability and potential inclement weather the number of participating teams is limited to 16 for each age group except 80+, which is limited to 4 teams. AGE GROUPS MAY BE COMBINED IF THERE ARE FEWER THAN FOUR TEAMS IN A DIVISION.
Players may participate in PRV and in multiple Open Team divisions. Additional sport fees will be assessed for each event registration. Teams may be comprised of players from multiple age groups. Teams will automatically be placed in the division of the youngest player on the team unless a lower age group division is designated by the team captain at the time of registration.
